if you’re in the nyc area you are already way too familiar with the heatwave we are having…and the end is not yet in sight
with temperatures in the mid 90′s and heat indexes 100+, this weather makes me long for chunky sweaters, ugg boots and a cup of hot chocolate
i dislike being cold….but i HATE being hot, melty and sweaty! i’d take shoveling 20 inches of snow in single digit weather over this any day!

like my scatterbrained self, this blog is no different (as the boy can attest)…funnies, tech, travel, cooking, life in general…you get the gist…while i can defend it by saying “my blog my rules” or my blog is like a little diary of my life…i should strive for some consistency, shouldn’t i?…i suppose…
since the wee bit of me wednesdays didn’t work out (not a fan of divulging THAT much personal information about myself on the interwebs!), i was trying to think of something that i can post regularly…
until something else strikes my fancy…i’ll start it with “lol of the week”.
i spend way too much time on the interwebs..and often find things that really just make me literally LOL…and like the millions of people out there, i have an unhealthy obsession with cats and the interwebs…
so here goes the lol of the week!

happy first day of summer!
today is the longest day of the year…too bad i’m not doing anything fun to take advantage of it…
looking forward to the beach, bbq’s and some fresh lemonade!
While I love collecting pennies from penny press machines wherever I go, I don’t always remember to keep clean ones in my wallet…
And in some cases like when I was in Toronto, the machines supply you with the pennies so you can’t even put a shiny one in if you had one! 
Which brought me to my little experiment tonight…I googled how to clean a penny and the salt/vinegar method seemed to ve the easiest way to go!
I think they could use another dip and scrubbing but for just a quick 5 minute bath I don’t think they came out that bad looking!

i seem to have disappeared again! a bunch of blog-worthy stuff has happened over the last few weeks, yet i either have no pictures or no motivation to write about it.
i’ll be spending the next 120 hours doing the touristy thing in niagara/toronto so maybe something interesting will come out of that and a post will be born.
